RIFLE SHOOTING

OKAWA DEFENCE CLUB CLASB FIRING ANO TROFHY MATCH. DIFFICULT CONDITIONS. The Okawa Rifle Club tired the first round of Trophy Match No. 2 on Roy’s Hill range over the week-end, the conditions being ten shots at 300, 500, and 600 yards. The shooting conditions were extremely difficult, for the riflemen had to contend with a continuous changing light and a stiff cross wind. The scores were naturally not brilliant, though individually some exceptionally good cards were returned. The veteran sportsman, Rflm. Humphries, put up a splendid performance at the first range with a 48. Ho, with Rflm. Cater, shared the honours for the day. 300 500 600 Tl.

MUSKETRY COURSE.

The annual musketry course and Klass firing resulted in a record muster of numbers, and the standard of shooting throughout was exceptionally high. The club service championship resulted in a tie between A. R. Symons end F. Schroder, but in the count back the former proved the winner, thus becoming the new season’s service ghampion. Following are the scores in detail: —

NAFIER DEFENCE CLUB 1 — ANNUAL MUSKETRY COURSE, During the week-end the following members of the Napier Defence Chib fired the annual musketry course as laid down by the Defence Department to qualify for the free grant of ammunition.
