ANGLO-ARGENTINE TRADE
SPECIAL MISSION TO LONDON. OTTAWA MISUNDERSTOOD. New York, Oct. 30. The "New York Times’ ” Buenos Aires correspondent states that President Justo has announced planning to send a special envoy to London, ostensibly to return the visit of the Prince of Wales. However, it is generally admitted that it is to assist the Ambassador, Senor Manuel Malbran, to negotiate new trade treaties. To-day the British Ambassador sent a note to the Foreign Minister, Senor Saaverdra Lamas, explaining that the Ottawa agreements were misunder stood by Argentina and declaring that Britain did not plan to establish quotas for meat imports, but merely intended to hold the imports at the present levels for 18 months, during which a fetudy of all phases of the meat question would be made, including friendly consideration of any representations that Argentina wanted to make on the ■subject.
