WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
GORDON WALKER LTD. Messrs Gordon Walker Ltd. report holding their usual weekly market sale on Saturday last, when they offered a full yarding of all classes of live and dead stock to a good attendance of the public. Poultry was a good deal easier in price, but pigs remained firm right throughout the day. The following prices were realised:— Poultry: W.L. hens 1/5 to 2/2, W.L. cockerels 1/6 to 2/3, 8.0. cockerels 2/to 2/10, 8.0. hens 2/3 to 3/5, 8.0. young cockerels 1/2 to 2/2, I.R. ducks 1/9 to 2/9, geese 2/6 to 3/-, hens and chicks 8/8 to 15/-, day-old chicks 6d to 9d. Pigs: Weaners 10/6 to 14/6, slips 14/- to 18/6, stores 19/- to 23/6, porkers 25/6 to 28/6. Daily stock: 1 Jersey heifer £6 10/-, 1 Jersey cow £4 15/-, 1 do £4 12/6. Fruit, produce and sundries realised very satisfactory prices to the vendors.
