A HAPPY EXPERIENCE
MISS BALLANTYNE’S PUPILS IN "CABMEN.” Some of Miss Ballantyne’s senior pupils were very much pleased this week when they were asked to appear in two scenes during the presentation of "Carmen” by the J. C. Williamson Opera Company. The girls wore gay velvet and satin suits and black Spanish hats, and appeared first among the throng while the famous Toreador Song was being given, and then later stood sentinel at the gates of the arena, all looking very natural and professional. The following pupils were included: Misses Peggy and Fay Hall, Molly Hull, Harley Bates, Hilary Fendall, and Madge Grenside, with Miss Ballantyne supervising. The inclusion of these girls caused much quiet interest among those of the audience who recognised them, and was a compliment to Miss Ballantyne.
