DANCE RECITAL

IN AID OF H.B. CHILDREN’S HOMES. COMING BARRIE STUDIO EVENT. On November 18 the Hastings Municipal Theatre has been engaged for a dance recital to be given by the pupils of Misses Grantham and Patston, of the "Barrie” studio, in aid of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Homes. This recital should prove of considerable interest to all who like to watch high grade exhibitions of modern dancing. basis for rhythmic movements, dancing and deportment of a high standard. There will be two main ballets during the evening in addition to other items. The "Winter Ballet” will bring in the juniors as snow fairies, babies of three as snowballs, and also Jack Frost and the Snowman,-besides the clouds, sun, and winds. The Peter Pan Ballet should delight everyone, for the "crocodile” is even now in his den, and "Mr and Mrs Darling” will be cleverly represented by Miss Grantham and Miss Patston. There will be the lost boys, pirates, Indians, and, of course, the excitingly fearsome Captain Hook. The programme will include Greek, Spanish and Hungarian dances, besides operatic dances, in which many of the carefully trained pupils are surprisingly good. The appeal of the Hawke’s Bay Children ’s Homes is one with which all who live in Hawke’s Bay are acquainted, and the need for funds to maintain these wonderful institutions is always present. Those who attend this "Barrie” studio dance recital on November 18 will not only spend a most interesting evening, but will benefit the orphan and needy children of the Hawke’s Bay Homes, who so greatly deserve assistance..
