A MODERN MARVEL ’PLANE TO FLY 1000 M.P.H. “ALMOST AN ACCOMPLISHED FACT. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 20, 10.35 a.m.) Sydney, Oct. 29. In a speech at the Millions Club, the German aviator, Captain Bertram, said that an aeroplane thiat can travel through space at the rate of 700 to 1000 miles lan hour and carry mails from Australia to Europe in nine or ten hours is regarded as almost an accomplished fact. A ’plane constructed by Professor Junkers and called a stratoplane, was now ready for its trials. The machine would mount 50,000 feet into the stratospere and travel at a speed of up to 1000. miles an hour.
