Hole in One.
Mr. Basil Smith, professional to the Akarana Club, Auckland, gave a demonstration to some of the players of the Hastings Club during last weekend of how to hole out in one. He performed the trick at the short 4th. In the morning round ho secured a two nt this hole, but, apparently he was not satisfied with a humble birdie, and just to show easy it was done, he trickled the little white pill into the cup for a one. Wc have it on good authority th&t his pals saw to it that he duly paid the penalty in a right, and royal fashion.
