H.B. KENNEL ASSN.

ANNUAL REPORT. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. At the annual general meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Kennel Association, to be held on Tuesday, November 8, the following report will be presented:— Ribbon Parades: Three successful ribbon parades were held. The association benefited considerably by these parades, and your executive committee believe they stimulate a wider interest in the canine world. The sincere thanks of the association is due to those who gave their services as judges, and also to those who assisted and furnished contributions. Picnic: On February 14 the association held its annual picnic on Mr van Asch’s property, Tuki Tuki. Over 100 members and friends attended the outing, which was a huge success. GROUND IMPROVEMENTS. Several improvements have been effected, notably the erecting of the old dog stand into a stand for spectators to watch the judging. Other improvements have also been made in our appointments. The executive thanks all donors for their kindly consideration. Hawke’s Bay Autumn Show: A very successful one-day show was staged on March 17, 1932, 203 entries being received. The judges were Mr A. H. Probert, sporting dogs; Mr C. L. Thomas, terriers and toys; and Mr C. Vogtherr, for non-sporting. This is the first autumn show we have held, and it is hoped to make this a permanent fixture. Hawke’s Bay Spring Show: A total of 460 entries were received for the H.B. Spring Show. In view of the period through which we are passing, this was a creditable performance, and a reflection on the good work of your executive and members. It was pleasing to see an increasing number of entries from distant fanciers, and our thanks are extended to them FINANCE. An advance in the financial position of the association is shown this year. After carrying forward a balance of £7 17/16 from last year, we have now a credit in the bank of £l4 13/1. Receipts for the year were £32 9/3, and expenditure £25 14/-. H.B. A. and P. Society: Your executive committee desires to thank the

H.B. A. and P. Society, particularly its secretary, for valuable assistance in all directions, and hopes that the good feeling existing between the H.B. Kennel Association and the H.B. A. and P. Society will continue. HONORARY SECRETARYTREASURER. Your executive has once again to record its appreciation of the services of our genial hon. secretary-treasurer, Miss Ftora T. Duff. Without her ungrudging and loyal assistance, we could not have hoped to attain the success which your executive believed has been achieved. It is therefore with the deepest regret that your executive has to state that Miss Duff has found it necessary to hand in her resignation owing to her leaving the district. Your executive considers Miss Duff’s departure is the greatest loss this association has yet received. She carries with her our good wishes for a happy time in her new sphere of activity and we hope to hear more of her in the canine fancy of Wellington. Conclusion; In conclusion, your executive committee desires to thank all who have assisted to make the year a successful one for the association, and hopes that the incoming executive committee will meet with the same loyal support

“Economy Time” at Baird’s is for every class of purchaser, the most exclusive fashionable stocks as well as the lower-priced goods are all equally reduced in price during this period. Everyone should make an effort to shop while these lower prices prevail. The special offer of men's suits for 79/6 are proving a great attraction; these were bought to sell at £5 10s, but owing to late delivery by the manufacturers arrangements were made to clear them at a great reduction. They’re in the latest cut and the best of materials. Call in to-night and inspect them, •
