ADVANCE IN MUTTON. Christchurch, Oct. 26. A heavy southerly storm with rain continuing to-day caused slightly smaller entries at the ’weekly market at Addington. Features of the market were tho easing in lamb prices and the slight advance in mutton prices. Sheep.—Four pens only were entered. The fat lamb yarding was 873 of good quality. The top price for the market was 18s 4d and the average price per pound 5d to 54d. The fat sheep entry was 3900, which is not sufficient for requirements. Values advanced Is per head for all classes. Values were: Ex ( tra prime heavy wethers to 19s 10d, prime heavy 15s fid, 16s 6d to 17s, medium weight prime 14s to 15s. ordinary 12s 6d to 13s fid, light 10s to Ils, extra prime heavy ewes 17s 4d, prime heavy 13s 6d to 15s, prime medium weight Ils 6d to 13s. ordinary 9s 6d to Ils, light 7s to, 9s, extra prime shorn wethers to 16s 7d, extra prime shorn ewes to 14s 6d. •’

Fat pigs.— There was a medium entry of bnconers, and the demand Was slightly better. Pork was in oversupply. Values were: Choppers £2 to £3 16s baconers 40s 6d. to 51s 6d, heavy £3 ’to £3 5s 6d, average price per lb 4|d to sd; porkers 26s 6d to. 32s 6d, heavy 34s 6d to 38s 6d, average price per lb. 4jd to sd.
