BEATSON’S PARK
IMPROVEMENTS TO MOTORISTS’ CAMP. PREPARING FOR INFLUX OF VISITORS. Reporting on the work being done at the motorists’ camp site at Beatson’s Park, the Borough Engineer (Mr. C, E. Evans) informed the Hastings Borough Council last evening that most of the improvement work, including the extension of the roadway for turning ears, had been completed. The men at present were engaged placing stonework in the preparation of foundations for the tennis courts. As soon as this was finished the concrete foundations would be placed in position
The number of motorists using the camping ground was increasing each year and some difficulty was being experienced in supplying sufficient hot water for the bath and hand basins, he said. The cost of installing a Deeston domestic boiler with an extra 30-gallon copper cylinder and supply tank on roof, including lagging, etc., was £29. This should double the supply of hot water and save considerable inconvenience, and he recommended that it be installed, —Adopted. The caretaker of the camp, Mr. H. BB. Ribbands, applied for the electric light to be connected with the camping ground as there would probably be a few visitors there for the show period.—Agreed to.
