UNEMPLOYED BOYS
FREE TECHNICAL CLASSES. PROPOSALS DISCUSSED IN NAPIER.. The possibilities of establishing free classes for unemployed boys of Napier early in the New Year were discussed at • general meeting held last evening, presided ovfer by the chairman of the Napier Central Employment Committee for Youths, Mr W. T. Foster. The Rev. F. de Lisle and Adjutant Goffin, members of the educational sub-com-mittee appointed by the central committee, were also in attendance, as well as the secretary of the centra] committee, Mr C. G. Mason. It was hoped that the meeting would result in some definite decision being reached in regaisl to the formation of the classes, buj since only about ten
per cent of the total number of boys registered as unemployed were present, and there being only five boys who signified their willingness to take advantage of the classes, the meeting adjourned without any definite decision being reached. Another meeting is to be called at an early date to go further into the proposals, when it is hoped by those working for the welfare of unemployed boys that there will be a larger attendance of boys and parents.
