THE PRINCES’ TOUR
END OF VISIT TO SWEDEN.
APPRECIATION OF RECEPTION. Official Wireless Service. Rugby, October 11. The Prince of Wales and Prince George concluded their visit to Sweden to-day. On the eve of departure the Prince of Wales in a broadcast speech expressed to the people of Sweden warm thanks for the friendly reception given his brother and himself. He was much impressed by all he had seen, by the beauty of Sweden's country and capital, and by those aspects of industrial life which he was able to inspect.
Commenting on the widespread knowledge of the English language amongst all classes in Sweden, he expressed the opinion that the Swedes were wise to learn English because it was becoming one of the best and easiest means of intercourse between the nations. It was a great satisfaction to observe the growing tendency in Sweden towards commercial and cultural relations with Britain, which he assured the Swedes Britain would reciprocate fully and warmly. King Gustav and several members of the Swedish Royal family were at the station when the Princes left, as well as a great crowd. The Princes are spending this evening at Gothenburg before leaving at midnight for Malmo, where aeroplane will be taken to Hamburg. Prince George will then fly to London, while the Prince of Wales will pay a short private visit to Amsterdam, staying at the British Legation.
