An Interesting Point.

A rather interesting point cropped up recently in a women’s championship qualifying 1 round wherein the player concerned was disqualified. It is not recorded what the lady concerned and her husband said, but the secretary of the L.G.U. exclaimed: “What a pity, after doing such a good round. I am sorry to tell you that you are disqualified.’’ The point at issue was that the husband caddied over the last nine holes for his wife in a championship qualifying round, and whilst being congratulated upon her good shooting the wife said: “I never could have done it, only my husband picked me up at the 9th hole and caddied the rest of the way for me.” The decision was as above stated. The ruling is that the L.G.U. does not permit a friend to carry a player’? clubs, the penalty being disqualification.
