August 24 —v. New South Wales, at Sydney. SENSATION AT NAPIER. FOUR PLAYERS ORDERED OFF. A sensation was created at Nelson Park, Napier, in the Y.M.P. (A) v. Scinde game. Shortly before the interval Y.M. were leading 2—o. Then a goal was awarded to Scinde, which several Y.M. players disputed. After a “scene,” the referee ordered four Y.M. players off the ground. In the second spell Scinde bad no difficulty in beating the seven Maori players, the final score being 3—2 in their favour.
