An application for separation and maintenance orders against her husband, Andrew Jenkins Shaw, professional golf coach, on the ground of persistent cruelty and failure to maintain, was made by Mrs Emma Shaw in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington. Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M., made an order for £2 10/- per week in favour of the complainant and one for £1 1/- per week in respect of her child. The defendant did not appear, but was represented by counsel. Permission has been given by the Hon. C. E. Gold Dress has a fair turn of speed and she may make a useful perfoi’mer next season.
