JOHN HOBBS MEMORIAL
APPEAL FOB FUNDS. COMMITTEE TO REPORT. At a public meeting held recently in St. Matthew’s Hall, and called to consider means of perpetuating the memory of the late Rev. John Hobbs, it was decided to place a memorial in St. Matthew's Church and a memorial in St. Barnabas’ Mission Hall, Parkvale. Also, it was decided to found a “John Hobbs Memorial” (capital) fund to be vested in the Waiapu Diocesan Board of Trustees, the interest of such fund to be used to assist in ministering to the spiritual needs of the Church of England people of the Parkville and Mahora districts.
The following committee was appointed:—Rev. Canon Mortimer-Jones (chairman), Dr. Tosswill, Messrs. G. des Forges, H. W. C. Baird, E. J. Hallett, W. Barton Hobbs, J. Bark, J. E. Hall, H. Nelson Fowler, I. H. Philpott, and Mrs. E. G. Armstrong (secretary). Donations may be earmarkeii for any of the three purposes and may be,sent to the vicar, the secretary, or any member of the committee The committee is to report, with' proposals for the memorials, to a meeting to be called after sufficient response has been made to the appeal for contributions.
