SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT

BY HASTINGS CITIZENS’ BAND.

A wonderful array of talent has been got together for the grand concert that is to be given by the Hastings Citizens’ Band in the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, on Sunday night. The programme is or a very high order, and will be easily the best yet put on by the band. The band’s items alone will be well worth hearing, especially a very humorous number “The Whistler and His Dog,” the whistling and the barking of dogs being a feature. By requests too numerous to mention,' the band will will also give “The Desert Song,” which scored such a hit at the last performance in the Theatre. Thq whole programme to be presented will be as follows: —Overture: “Raymond” by the Band; song, Mr. E. G. Stevenson, of Napier; recitation, Little Miss McCombe; soprano solo, Bandsman A. Young; song, Mrs Cecil Spinney; steel guitar trio, Mrs Wall, Mrs Smith and Miss McKay; selection, “Tho Desert Song;” duet, Mrs 0. Spinney and Dudley Hawthorne; humorous, “The Whistler and His Dog;” novelty turn, Bandsman Marcroft; selections, Les Orchestra; march, Honest Toil.”

The band members wish to state that if this concert is a success .they will coniinue them during the season. Doors will bo opened at 7.30 p.m. and the concert commences at 8.15. A silver coin collection will be taken at the door.
