VIEWS ON MONETARY SYSTEM. MR ATMORE’S CAMPAIGN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, June 8. Mr H. Atmore, M.P.. addressed a crowded meeting at the Theatre Royal last evening and dealt mainly with the economic situation and the monetary system. Referring to the world depression as “artificial poverty,” he said that the people's purchasing power should equal he value of aggregated production and god a State note issue with adequate ieguards as direct utilisation of the P' epl' s credit. He condemned in general the recent legislation of the Government. Mr Atmore said he has been asked to fpcak in various parts of New Zealand ; 'id would tour the country with the idea of reviving the principles of the great Liberal leaders of the past. A unanimous vote of thanks and conIbl' nee was cairied.
