WAIPUKURAU SALE

DEMAND FOR JERSEY HEIFERS. The only stock in demand at Waipukurau sale yesterday was Jersey beiters, all station lines failing to meet with any competition. Several pens of Hereford and 1’ A. fat cows were included m the entry, but were passed at a low figure, no buyers being present for this class of stock. Four pens of Jersey weaner heifers were sold at prices ranging from £1 2/to £1 12/-. These heiiers wdJl require the best of feed if they are to come to profit as two-year-olds, as they are rather low in condition. in the sheep section, there was an average yarding, comprising ewes in lamb and hoggets. Breeding ewes brought full market values considering the quality offered. The hoggets offered were mostly inferior sheep, evidently being a tail-end of some of the outside importations, which arrived m large numbers three months ago. Il these lambs were dipped when there is a spell of warmer weather, purchasers would find that they would thrive much better. Medium ewe Jambs met with good competition, ranging from 10/6 to 11/-.
