BRITAIN’S UNEMPLOYED
BIG INCREASE FOR MONTH (Unitei Press Association—By CableCopyright.) (deceived 7, 12.55 p.m,) London, June 6. The unemployed on May 23 totalled 2,741,306, compared with 2,622,971 in June of last year. This is an increase of 89,125 sine* April 25 although the number of wholly unemployed decreased by 30,761. The temporarily unemployed Increased by 114,101, which is ascribed to holiday stoppages in the textile and boot industries, the effect of the recent floods, and temporary stoppages in the engineering, motor, metal and pottery-trades.
