RUMOURS DENIED
GERMAN POLITICAL CRISIS HINDENBURG’S INTENTIONS. DATE OF ELECTION FIXED. (United Preen Association—By Cable— Copyright.) (Received 7, 12 noon.) London, June 6. Von Neurath, before departing for Germany, ridiculed the rumours that President Hindenburg is resigning in favour of the ex-Crown Prince. He described the Cabinet as a business Government composed of men of common sense, mostly experienced public servants, and well fitted for their respective posts. The “Times” Berlin correspondent says that President Hindenburg has fixed the elections for July 31. The Nazis are jubilant at the Mccklenberg success. They are redoubling their energies in preparing for the election campaign, surpassing earlier colossal efforts, and are confident of success. Good judges, though favouring the Nazis, do not predict a majority. It seems improbable that the election will yield the clear result for which everyone longs. |
