HAWKE’S BAY ASSOCIATION. USUAL WEEKLY MEETING. The usual Weekly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Hockey Association was held last evening, Mr J. Le Compte presiding over Messrs. Surgenor, Wall, West, Tutai, Nikera and Fitzmaurice (secretary). A vote of thanks was passed to the numerous referees for their valuable assistance at the tournament on June 3. In regard to the queen carnival clubs are requested to send in their funds so that the votes can be credited accordingly. So far only three clubs have sent in their returns, as follows: Hastings Ladies (Miss C. Smith) 1800, Karori (Miss K. McKeigan) 1500, and United (Miss I. Cameron) 1440. A challenge bv United Gold against Waimarama on Thursday next for the Challenge Banner was accepted. It was decided that clubs under the

jurisdiction of the H.B.H.A. must applv to the association for permission to play outside matches. Permission was granted to the Tamatea Sub-Association to hold a Maori tournament at Te Hauke on June 21 and 22. On behalf of the Tamatea SubAssociation Mr Tutai extended an invitation to officials of the parent body to attend the tournament.
