WAIPUKURAU SALE SLIGHTLY IMPROVED TONE. FEW FATS IN SHEEP PENS. Th# weekly Waipukurau Stock Solo was held to-day in the presence of a good number of buyers. There was only a moderately large entry of cattle, and an average one of sheep, only a lew pens being fats. A slightly improved tone was revealed in the market, s.m. ewes being in good demand. The top price was 12/1 for a good conditioned line. Other prices generally were on a par with recent values. CATTLE. Four well finished fat bullocks, £5 14/6; 5 light fat steers, £4 5/-; 4 good quality fat bullocks, £5 16/-; 3 fat P.A. cows, £2 9/6; 2 other fat cows. £2 3/-; 10 light P.A. bullocks passed at £4; 5 youug Hereford cows, light, passed at £2 16/-; 6 small 18-month steers passed at 10/-; 9 2-year-old heifers passed at £2; 7 yearling heifers, small, passed at 5/-; 4 Jersey cross cows, with calves at foot, brought £2 4/-; 1 2-year Jersey bull, £2; 1 aged Jersey bull, £2 10/-. FAT SHEEP. 37 light ewes passed at 5/7; 29 S.D. m.s. 2-ths., fair condition, brought 8/-; 4 light prime lambs, 11/7; 3 do., little lighter, 9/4; 1 prime wether, 11/6; 16 medium ewes, 6/3. STORE SHEEP. 321 4 and 5-yr. ewes, medium quality, 7/3, 157 sound 5-year ewes, 6/6; 168 4 and 5-year ewes, good, passed at 7/9; 193 2-th wethers, medium, brought 6/9; 214 small 2-th ewes, 6/1; 175 good 6 and 8-th ewes 12/1; 133 4 and 5-year ewes, sound and dipped, from Double Hill, 7/1; 129 do., but better quality, 8/2; 156 forward wethers, 8/7; 135 good 2-th. ewes, from Mt.
