CONFERENCE OPENED. REPRESENTATIVE ATTEND A NOE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Jan. 26. Horticultural week was opened this morning when a civic welcome was tendered the visiting delegates, the bodies represented being the New Zea land Institute of Horticulture, the Fruitgrowers’ Association, the New Zealand University, the State Forest Service, the Association of Nurserymen, the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, the Forestry League, and various horticultural societies. The Director-General of Agriculture was also present. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. Archer, and Mr. O. W. B Anderson, chairman of the Christchurch Horticultural Society, welcomed the delegates. Mr. J. A.
