The Taradale Town Board is at present building four see saws and t«o infants’ swings in the Park on behali of the Taradale branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, which brings the playground right up to date, a fact which will no doubt be thoroughly appreciated by the children. There is no doubt that for position as a camping ground the site chosen is excellent, and with the addition of several other facilities required, which it is intended to supply, this rendezvous will become widely known The Taradale Town Board has received notice to pay into the central fund the balance of monies raised in the district for relief purposes Workmen are busily engaged cleaning out and widening drains in Guppy’s road that were closed up by the earthquake. Having played for 64 years is a record difficult to surpass. Mr Fnyen’s brother was a member of the New Zealand team that played Australia in the days of “Demon” Spofforth.
