WEDDING

GREEN-EBBETT. A very pretty wedding took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, WaiSukurau, on Saturday afternoon, when Liss Doreen Mary Ebbett, second daughter of Mrs and the late Mr G. Ebbett, of Church street, Waipukurau, was married to Mr Charles Norman Green, eldest son of Mr and Mrs 0. Green, of Tiikokino. The ceremony was performed by Canon E. D. Rice. The church was beautifully decorated by the friends of the bride. Mr J. Brvce presided at the organ. the bride, who was escorted by her cousin, Mr C. Spencer, of Waipukurau, looked very charming in a frock of champagne floral georgette, with hat and shoes to tone. She carried a bounquet of lemon and apricot roses and maiden-hair fern tied with apricot and lemon ribbon. The bridesmaid. Miss Frances Ebbett, sister of the bride, wore a pretty frock of sea-green georgette, with pink lace and shoes to tone. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and asparagus fern, tied with pink ribbon. The bridegioom was attended by Mr D. Sweeney, of Waipukurau, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. Mrs Ebbett leceived the guests, wearing a handsome frock of navy blue floral georgette, with a black hat of Bangkok straw, and carrying a bouquet of pink and mauve sweetpeas. The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart rock of navy blue floral chenille vel vet. Her bouquet was of pink and mauve roses. Mrs Spencer, of Wanganui, an aunt of the bride, wore a handsome black satin frock, with pink Bangkok straw hat. The usual toasts were honoured. Later Mr and Mrs Green left by car for Taupo, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling costume was of saxe blue georgette with lace coatee, and a small hat of lemon straw.
