MUSIC ON THE AIR. PROGRAMMES FOR TO-NIGHT. The results of the Auckland Racing Club’s Carnival will be relayed from IYA at noon. At 8 pan. the international programme will be broadcast, the speaker being I'.- A. B. Chappell, M.A., who has chosen for his.subject, “Christmas Throughout the World,” a seasonable topic,
The Lyric Four will be heard from 2YA in numerous vocal items. Muriel Johns will again delight listeners in songs at the piano, and Stan. Williamson (banjo soloist) plays two brackets of snappy aielodies. The Salon Orchestra, under Mat Dixon, supplies the incidental music.
A popular programme will be broadcast this evening by 3YA. Cicely Audibert (soprano) will be heard in Gounod’s “Jewel Song,” “Messagero Amoroso” (Buzzi-Peccia) and FraserSimson’s “Love Cigarette,” Nellie Lowe (contralto) sings Nutting’s “Land of Mine,” “My Curly-Headed Babby” (Clutsam), “Whore the Ahana Flows” (Woodforde - Findon) and Greene’s “Sing Me to Sleep.” Mr W. J. Trowern’s presentation of four pleasing songs, and the Rose and Thistle Duo’s popular contributions complete the vocal portion of the programme.
