TRADE OF PORT OF NAPIER

INCREASE IN REVENUE. SHIPS AND THEIR CARGOES. Another increase in the revenue of the Napier Harbour Board derived from the trade of the Napier waterfront is revealed when the figures for the month of November are compared with those of the corresponding month of last year, the increase amounting to £BBB. Until recently every month over a long period steady decreases have been shown, but the last two months’ increases have been shown, the total amount being £1223. During November of this year the tonnage of shipping to visit the port was 7628 tons more than it was in the same month of 1930. The amount of cargo to enter the port also showed a considerable decrease, especially in the item of coal, which was 632 tons less than it was in the same month of last year. A very considerable increase is to bo seen in the number of lamb carcases which were exported, there being no less than 131,296 more exported this November than there was last, the figures being 173,171 in 1931, against 41,875 in 1930. Mutton carcases also increased by 9095. Details are as follow:—
