HAVELOCK NORTH

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. The Women’s Institute held its last meeting for the year on December 9th in the Village Hall, about 60 members being present. Reports were given of the Federation half yearly meeting held at Taradale and the handicraft exhibition at Dannevirke; also a survey of the work done by the W,l, play-reading circle at Havelock. Mrs. Neilson, of Norsewood, then gave n demonstration of basket-making from pine needles, showing some beautiful samples of her work. An exchange of gifts with Christmas greetings brought the happy meeting to a close.
