NOTICE OF BOOK WEEK. The following original suggestion is the id-ir c.f a Hastings lady, who sends in this notice which she hopes may stir the conscience of all those who have in their possession borrowed books—borrowed either from an institution or from individuals, The notice runs as follows:—“I, a borrowed book, on behalf of all other borrowed books, do hereby declare that from December 21st to 26th, Hastings observes a book week. ’ ’ All that you have to do to make Book Week a success is to return to the rightful owner any books (or music) you may have borrowed. Now, you have not read this notice without having resolved to return any books in your possession that are long overdue, and to scud them back to the -owner’s bookshelf. Let this bo your slogan: “Returning for Christmas.” Tell your friends about Book Week and by your efforts help to make it a success. December 21st to 26th.
