REDUCING STOCK

HEAVY KILLINGS AT THE WORKS It is estimated that 80,000 sheep and lambs will be dealt with at the two local freezing works during this week. Killing at this rate soon reduces stock, and must leave a number of properties well understocked, as very little buying for replacement- is taking place. Buyers found last season that they were able to fill their requirements to better advantage at auction sales in the New Year, but, owing to the freezing season being much more advanced this year, the same opportunities may not occur.
