WAIPUKURAU SALE

YESTERDAY’S VALUES. A draft of P.A. and Hereford cross cows and heifers was sold, on account Fourerere Station, at Waipukurau sale yesterday. Marked preference was shown for forward empty cows, a pen realising £3, whereas a pen of cows with calves at foot from the same station made only £2 5/-. This preference is rather hard to explain, because vealers usually find a ready sale in the autumn and spring. Store wethers were the only class yarded in the store sheep pens, but buyers were very indifferent, the only sale at auction being a pen of undersized 2-tooth wethers, which realised 6/1. A pen of average four-tooth wethers was passed at and a line with not quite as much condition was passed at 6/10. BROKERS’ REPORTS.
