SLIGHT DECREASE FOR WEEK DETAILS OF THE RETURNS There is a slight decrease in the total of men out of work in Napier for the week ending yesterday. The number is 816 compared with 823 for the previous week. Of the total fit for heavy work there are 535 men with dependants aud 237 without. Altogether there were 423 employed last week under the No 5 scheme.
There is also a decrease in tho Hastings figures. The number at present out of work is 603, compared with 647 for the previous week." Those fit for heavy work are 396 with dependants, and 113 without. The totals for the various subdistricts of Hawke’s Bay, from Wairoa to Dannevirke amount to 532, as compared with 546 for the previous week.
