H.B. DRAMA LEAGUE
REVIVAL OF KEEN INTEREST. THE COMING PERFORMANCE. The formation of the Hawke’s Bay Drama League has resulted in a revival of keen interest in amateur dramatic circles throughout the district. For some. time past several teams have been in constant practice and at the competition seven distinct performances will be presented. Each of the competinir tear - is anxious to achieve supremacy and a keen contest is anticipated. The Maraekakaho Dramatic Club will present the brilliant comedy by A. A. Milne, "Wurzle Flummery.!’ The story deals with a wealthy and eccentric old gentleman who has been led by his cynical sense of humour to leave his fortune to two prominent men of widely different temperaments on condition that they both take the ridiculous name of Wurzle Flummery. His intention is to prove that anyone will do anything for money. The cast is:—Miss Violet Crawshaw, Sheila Graham; Mr Richard Meriton. M.P., Hube r t Browning; Mr Robert Crawshaw, M.P., Denys Browning; Mr Robert Crawshaw, Loslly Dasent. The festival will take place at the Hastings Assemblv Hall on November 18 and 19. Prices for admission arc: Adults 2s plus tax, children Is. A box plan has been opened at Fail's.
