COMING ELECTION
THE HAMILTON SEAT. MR. LYE WITHDRAWS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hamilton, Nov. 9. Mr. S. C. G. Lye, who had been selected as the United Party candidate for Hamilton, has notified the committee that lie will not contest the seat, realising that there should be no contest between Reform and United at the present time. THE ROTORUA SEAT. Rotorua, Nov. 9. Efforts on the part of the Reform organiser, Mr. D. G. Edwards, to reconcile the Reform executive of the Rotorua electorate to support ' the United Coalition candidate, Mr. C. 11. Clinkard, have failed, and although Mr. Edwards states that negotiations are still proceeding, Mr. E. C. Earle Vaile, who is opposing Mr. Clinkard as an Independent Reform candidate, has definitely intimated that ho will go to the poll.
