Waikato Cup.—Grand Tea 8.2. JOCKEY'S INJURIES t METCALF GRAVELY HURT. FALL AT~RIOCARTON. Christchurch, Nov. 8. The condition of T. Metcalf, jockey, uho was badly hurt when his mount, Countermarch, fell in the finish of the Linwood Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday, had slightly improved today, but was still serious. When Countermarch fell Peter Jackson, ridden by H. Stockley, came down oyer him, and Sharp Thorn also lost his rider, I. Tilson. Metcalf fell heavily, and was struck by the feet of the galloping horses, suffering grave head injuries, the worst being a fracture at base of the skull.
