Millard, to represent Wellington in the Ranfurly Shield match against Canterbury to-morrow: — Full-back: H. Lilbume. Three-quarters: F. Fuller, A. M. McDonald, Huxtable. Five-eighths: M. F. Nicholls (captain), J. R. Page. Half-back: F. Kilby. .Wing-forward i Price. Forwards < E. Jessop, E- Ooulaton, A. C. McPherson, E. Barry, E. Reid, B. E. Deidench, J. Dellebarca. Emergencies i Forwards, Byddar, Fell, Stiver | banka, Grifffabs, Cormack. McLean, Pollock, Ball and Mackay were not available, owing to injuries. The New Zealand Rugby Union has decided that D. G. Simpson, lock m the Canterbury Rugby team, ia not eligible to play in the match against Wellington to-morrow, as he has not fulfilled residential qualifications. Roberts will lock the Canterbury scrum. BAY TEAM IN AUCKLAND. PRACTICE THIS MORNING [Special to “Tribune.”] Auckland, Aug. 8L The Bay footballers arrived in Auckland late last night after a splendid journey-. They praeKaed assiduously on Eden Park thia morning, including a fifteen minutes’ game with the New Plymouth High School, who provide to-morrow’s curtainraiser against Auckland Grammar. Smith’s damaged eye is yielding -nlendidly to treatment. Steers end Fitzgibbons now sport a cauliflower ear each, received in the Canterbury game. They are greatly admired by the remainder of the team!
The weather is exopllent and the ground in wonderful order. The team to-morrow fa*— Full-back: Yates. Three-quarterst Smith. Grenside, M. Howell. Five-eighths: , Cook, E. Howell. Half: Setford. Forwards: McKay (wing), Fitzgibbons, Wilson, Campbell, Steere, Anderson, Gemmell, Tucker. The referee will be Mr. Austin. The team leaves for Wanganui on Monday evening. PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ MATCH THE HASTINGS TEAM. The Hastings primary school reps, to meet the Central Hawke’s Bey primary school reps, on the High School grounds, Hastings, tomorrow at 1.15 p.m., are as under:— Full-back: Kale (Convent).
