RANFURLY SHIELD WELLINGTON EIDE PICKED. LILBURNE AT FULL-BACK. By Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Aug. 21. The following team has been chosen by the sole selector, Mr. J. N. Millard, to represent Wellington in the Ranfurly Shield match against Canterbury to-morrow: — Full-back: H. Lilbume. Three-quarters: F. Fuller, A. M. McDonald, Huxtable. Five-eighths: M. F. Nicholls (captain), J. R. Page. Half-back: F. Kilby. .Wing-forward i Price. Forwards < E. Jessop, E- Ooulaton, A. C. McPherson, E. Barry, E. Reid, B. E. Deidench, J. Dellebarca. Emergencies i Forwards, Byddar, Fell, Stiver | banka, Grifffabs, Cormack. McLean, Pollock, Ball and Mackay were not available, owing to injuries. The New Zealand Rugby Union has decided that D. G. Simpson, lock m the Canterbury Rugby team, ia not eligible to play in the match against Wellington to-morrow, as he has not fulfilled residential qualifications. Roberts will lock the Canterbury scrum. BAY TEAM IN AUCKLAND. PRACTICE THIS MORNING [Special to “Tribune.”] Auckland, Aug. 8L The Bay footballers arrived in Auckland late last night after a splendid journey-. They praeKaed assiduously on Eden Park thia morning, including a fifteen minutes’ game with the New Plymouth High School, who provide to-morrow’s curtainraiser against Auckland Grammar. Smith’s damaged eye is yielding -nlendidly to treatment. Steers end Fitzgibbons now sport a cauliflower ear each, received in the Canterbury game. They are greatly admired by the remainder of the team!
