DEADLOCK COMPLETE GANDHI’S GRAVE CHARGES, AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. (United Frees Association—By CableCopyright.) (Received 21, 8.40 a.m.) Delhi, August 20. The deadlock between the Government and Congress is now regarded as being complete, following the publication by Gandhi of a lengthy state, ment containing grave charges against the Government of a breach of the Delhi agreement, including the maltreatment of villagers by landlords during rent collection. The Government officials, Gandhi alleged, were guilty of connivance. CONSTITUTION OF BURMA. ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 21, 12.3.0 p.m.) Rugby, August 20. The India Office announces that the Government has decided to convene in Burma a round-table conference and invite representatives of the interests of Burma to meet representatives of the Government and other parties in Parliament for the purpose of seeking the greatest possible measure of agreement regarding the future constitution of Burma and the relations of Burma with India. The Burma sub-committee of the Indian round-table conference in January last made a recommendation in fav. bur of the separation of Burma; the primary task of the conference will be to discuss the lines of a constitution for a separated Burma. It is intended that the conference assemble in November. Members of the Government will preside.
