By Telegraph—Press Association. After drinking from a bottle labelled “Ant and wood lice death" on Wednesday, Allen Edward Whitcombe, aged two years, died m the Christchurch Hospital yesterday. At the inquest last evening, the coroner returned a verdict that death was due to heart failure following on consumption of some narcotic poison which the child had accidentally drunk. "It will not affect the verdict, but it is necessary in the interests of the public,” said the coroner when directing that a sample of the liquid be analysed. An old resident of Feilding, Mr. E. J. Hackrill. left home yesterday morning for his office, which he did not reach. He was missed at 10 o’clock, and a search was begun immediately. Constable Gillard found his body in the stream two miles from Foiling in the afternoon. His car had been left on the side of the road. He had suffered ill-health lately. Deceased was secretary of the Romney Marsh Sheep-breeders’ and Hereford Cattle Breeders’ Association. He leaves a widow.
