The Sydney Tattersail’s’ Club’s races were held at Randwick yesterday in bright sunshine, with only a moderate attendance. Following are the results of the chief events:— Chelmsford Handicap, 1 mile — Tippo 8.5 (Hornery) 1, Sunlit Reef 8.10 (Knox) 2. Tantrum 7.6 (Pratt) 3, Fourteen started. Won by threequarters of a length. Time, Imin. 38Jsecs. Carrington Stakes, 6 furlongs.—Mr E. F. Walker’s cb.m. Pavilion, 5 years, by William the Silent—Pavlova, 8.5 (McCarten) 1. Waugoola 8.9 (Matthews) 2, High Disdain 9.4 (Cook) 'J. Sixteen started. Pavilion shot to the front in the straight and won brilliantly by a length and a half from Waugoola, with High Disdain half a length off tail'd. Cleave was next, then Greenline. Time, Imin lOfsecs., a course record. Denman Handicap, 1$ mile.—Mr. E. J. Watt’s br.g. Spearman. 5 years, by Spearhead—Scream, 8.10 (Johnstone) 1, Gesto (N.Z.) 8.11 (Pike) 2, Don Moon 8.4 (uiiliams) 3. Seven started. Won by a neck, third foui lengths back. Time, 2min. ssecs. Praetor, Paul T. and Kinross fell in the Hurdle race. Kinross rather seriously cut his legs and chest. Carter rider of Praetor, summed from severe head injuries.
