RIFLE CHAMPION
W. McBAIN, OF WELLINGTON NORTH ISLAND TOURNEY Wanganui, Dee. 27. The North Island Rifle championship was concluded on the Putiki range on Saturday. The Anal was won by Deputy-President W. Mcßain, of the Old Navals Club (Wellington) with a score of 322; £lO. The runner-up was E. M. Wrigley (Opaki) 319, £6; while the third position was filled by E. J. Reston (Akarana), 319, £4. The Putiki Aggregate was won by J. Bouzaid (Greytown). He compiled the highest aggregate in Matches 1,2, and 3. Bouzaid also annexed the Tyro championship, with a score of 272. H. C. Trotman (Greytown) won the Marybank Aggregate with a score of 140. The championship teams match was won by the Wanganui A team with a score of 466. The winning team comprised F. Soler 97, E. S. King 94, J. 8. Doidge 92, J. Patterson 95, and W. Hudson 88. The Optional Aggregate was won by W- J. Green (Qkawa) 185, £lO, 1; P. W. Mclver (Petone), 184, £7, 2; A. H. O’Donnell (Petone), 184, £5, 3. The prizes were distributed by th? Hon. W. A. Veitch, who congratulated the winners on their performances, and paid a tribute to the splendid organisation of the fixture.
