FASCISM CRITICISED FAULTS OF MUSSOLINI’S RULE SENSATIONAL ALLEGATIONS OF OPPRESSION [United Press Association—By CableCopyright.! (Received 27, 12.45 p.m.) Brussels, Sept. 26. The trial of de Rosa has developed into a trial of Fascism, in which distinguished Italians gave evidence concerning their country under Signor Mussolini’s rule. Signor Nitti said it showed loss of liberty, leading to Italy’s economic decadency as well as a decline in its intellectual level. He praised the character of the accused, and referred to young Italians of different' parties executed under the Fascist regime. Ex-Deputy Turati said that de Bosa sought to draw the attention of public opinion aboard to Italy’s misfortunes and to awaken the spirit of resistance in Italy. Signor Ferrari, an exiled lawyer, declared that the King of Italy had become a chancellor of the dictator. A sensation was caused in Court when Signor Rosetti, an Italian wartime hero, said that the present position in Italy was like that in Belgium during the German occupation. He himself left Italy because he was haunted with the desire to commit a patriotic crime. The case was adjourned. Fernando de Rosa is charged with attempting to kill Prince Umberto, heir to the Italian Throne, during his visit to Brussels in December last.
