PARTY FOR STAFF
On Thursday evening last a very enjoyable evening was given by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh W. C. Baird at theii residence “Rossdhu,” York street, to the stall of “Baird's.” The guests to the number of about forty were entertained with a series of amusing games and competitions in which everyone elected to try their skill, the winner of each series being awarded a handsome prize by the hostess. The prize winners were Miss Mitchell, Miss Gallien, Miss Keen, and Messrs Banks (2). and Hopkins. During the evening musical numbers, vocal am instrumental were rendered by tk< * visitors, Mrs. E. Millson’s rich con tralt-o voice being much appreciated Two very fine Scotch recitations bv Mrs. Baird were also heartily enjoyed After a most delicious supper ha< been served, games and communit.’ singing wore indulged in, and in tin weo sma’ hours the host and hostes were acclaimed with musical honour for the enjoyable evening experienced by all those present.
