FANCY DRESS SOCIAL
A verv happy and enjoyable evening was spent last Wednesday at the fancy dress social which was held in Wesley Hall. There were eighty young people present, and the fancy costumes worn presented a gay appearance
The social was organised by the Methodist Junior Young Women's Bible Class, and the leader of the class, Miss E. Beale, was convenor. The evening was a great success in every way. and the class funds will benefit considerably as a result. The hall was prettily decorated with streamers of the B.U. colours, blue and silver, and this work was ably carried out by Mr. Les Spurdie.
Mr. L. A. Denton acted as M.C.,' and Mrs C. G. Cunnold supplied the music for the games-. The fancy costumes, which were of great variety, were seen to advantage in the Grand March at the commencement of the evening. Two interesting competitions were much enjoyed the winners being Miss A. Monk and Miss N. Hickling. The following items were given durin'» the evening;—Miss Laurel Currie song : Miss Dorothy Farmery, recitation; Misses Thelma and Iris Gibbs, duet; Mr. J. Warren, violin; Misses Doris Price and Mabel Wyatt, duet: Misses 'Muriel and Mae Cunnold, two musical sketches. A dainty supper was served by the junior girls, after which several more games were played. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne,’’ amidst showers of paper streamers, brought a very happy and successful function to a close.
