LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

SHORT FORMAL SITTING. Wellington, June 26. The Legislative Council met at 3.10 p.m. The Hon. Sir Thomas Sidey gave notice to move a motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr A. F. Lowe, Clerk of Parliaments. He also moved a motion congratulating Mr E. W. Kane on his appointment to the position, expressing the opinion the House of Representatives would ensure a successful term in the Council. The Hon. D. Buddo gave notice of his intention to move the Arldress-in-Roply motion on Wednesday next. Five now Councillors, the Hons. J. Stevenson, D. Buddo, R. McCallum, M. Fagan and J. Trevithick, were sworn in and took their seats. The Council adjourned at 3.30 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
