The death has occurred at Wellington of Mr. Arthur Warburton, aged 82. In 1863 he joined the staff of the Bank of New South Wales and rose to be a manager. He resigned about 1834 and established a shafebroking and financial agency—the firm of Arthur Warburton and Co. He had considerable business interests in Wellington and .for 22 years was a member of tho Board of Governors of Wellington College and the Girls’ High School. —Press Assn. William Thomas Watson, aged 41, plumber, who was remanded from Opotiki yesterday, appeared at the Auckland Police Court to-day charged with obtaining 5s 6d Dy fasely representing that a ticket purporting to be issued by the Golden Casket Art Union Brisbane, was genuine. Watson was further remanded on £lOO bail, after the Chief Detective hud stated that other enarges were ponding, and that Watson had got tho Casket tickets printed in New Zealand, quite a number being sold.—Press Associa- . tion.
