The new agreement recently negotiated between the Coal Owners’ Association and the miners’ representatives to 'cover the West Coast district, has now been ratified bv all of the unions affiliated to the West Coast Miners’ Council. There are only slight modifications of the old agreement. In the House, of Representatives yesterday Mr J. A. Young asked, in view of the visit to tho Commonwealth of Sir Otto Niemeyer at an early date to consult with the Federal authorities on financial problems, if the Government would take steps to invite Sir Otto to extend his visit to New Zealan'd to consult with the Gov ernment in tho hope that something permanent might be done to relievo tho burden of exchange between New Zealand and England. A pair of properly fitted glasses are priceless. They mean untold comfort. H. M. Bennett. 227 Heretaunca street, Hastings.*
