ART UNIONS

WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY’S PROTEST. MINISTERIAL INTERFERENCE SOUGHT. (Pei Press Association.] Wellington, June 13. The Wellington Presbytery to-day dealt with tho subject of art unions, taking exception to the whole business as vicious and expressing tho opinion that if tho City Council had a mind to it they could cleanse the city of what was an offence to many of its best citizens. Reference was made to the selling of tickets on the street and advertising on thfe trains and it was considered that the Minister of Internal Affairs should at once revert to the position as it was when he took office. It was pointed out that the Rt. Hon, J. G. Coates gave an assurance that his colleagues were unanimous that it was not in the public interest and brought art unions to an end. The strongest exception was taken to their revival.
