HAVELOCK NORTH

SUPPORT FOR DENTAL CLINIC. A special meeting of the Havelock North School Committee was held last evening to receive the report of the sub-committee which represented Havelock North at the recent meeting concerning a school dental clinic for Hastings. The chairman, Mr. J. D. Heenan, explained that the dental clinic committee would consist of two representatives from the larger schools and one from the smaller. Nine schools with approximately 160 C children would be treated so two nures would be needed. The school committees' representatives had to stand the cost of the rental of rooms, wood, coal, etc., which would amount to approximately £BO, the Havelock share being about £lO. One of the members said he felt sure that they had the support of parents and thought that the £lO could easily be raised by a concert. The chairman said that only children up to Std. IV. inclusively would be entitled to the treatment. Mr. W. Marven was elected the Havelock representative on the clinic committee. The following team will represent the Havelock North Tennis Club v Ebbett Park at Havelock North on Saturday, at 2 p.m.:—Ladies: Mrs Webb. Miss Wilson.
