DAIRY PRODUCE BUTTER PRICES. NEW YORK AND MONTREAL. Wellington, Dee. #. The Dairy Board has received the following advice from its agents in Canada, dated 6th December: Butter, New York 43} cents (Is 9jd), Montreal 39} cents (Is 7}d). The markets have an easier tendency. TfiE LONDON MARKET AUSTRALIAN POSITION. London, Dec. 8. Australia is still suffering from the London market’s obsession that Aus tralian butter is markedly inferior to that of New Zealand. Prices of the former have dropped eight shillings per hundredweight in a tortnight Aus tralia House explained that this is principally owing to the heaviness of supplies, also to New Zealand butter which has been held at present being released. Merchants are not losing the disconcerting habit of bidding a few shilling, lower for Australian than for New Zealand. When New Zealand prices fall Australian go down in sympathy, though the quality is not lower.
